An Unexpected Birth Story
I wish I could tell you that the idea for designing and sending a breast pump backpack to market was an easy one, but it actually came at one of the hardest points of my life. Cue the difficult birth of my baby girl and the surprising twist in my feeding journey. It wasn't just the 28-hour labor or the unexpected cesarean that did me in, it was purely that becoming a new mom was one of the most traumatic events I had ever gone through. Seven layers of tissue cut through, a 4 day hospital stay, hormones I had never experienced, my milk starting to come, the works. I was dealing with a tumor in my pituitary gland and trying to figure out what my feeding journey would look like.

From the guidance of my specialty doctor, I ended up exclusively pumping. I was self-taught and ended up meeting another EP mama by chance, she introduced me to this social media community which helped me start to figure it out. After 15 short weeks, my maternity leave was coming to an end, and at the time my breast pump "bag", which was a gallon bag with my breast pump parts in it, and the motors I threw in the top of the diaper bag. I remembered thinking to myself; there has got to be SOMETHING relatively affordable and durable to put my breast pumps and work essentials (laptop) in. I couldn't find anything in my budget, but as moms do, I headed back to my job with a gallon bag in hand.

A Niche Found
I looked and looked for a breast pump bag that could fit my needs as a new mom AND fit my budget. There was nothing on the market in a relatively affordable price range that was a vegan leather bag. I remember thinking, if I can't find one, I can make one? 8 iterations and 2 years later we launched in August of 2024. The idea that I once had is a reality that I can share with other moms (by God's love and grace). I trialed and tested this breast pump backpack through my entire 24 month EP journey until I thought it was perfected. Now I am postpartum with baby #2 and back in full breastfeeding mode; the bag that has now been through 1 feeding journey, a pregnancy, and now another baby is WILD!
